In the early hours of the morning, a tragic road accident claimed the lives of three friends in Kolaghat. The incident occurred around 5 am when Akash Paloi, Sayan Bhokta (18), and Atanu Mandal (22) were returning home from a night trip on a motorcycle. The trio, from the Vaishnavichak area of Kolaghat, collided with the rear of a parked truck in the Baradabar area. Two of the youths died instantly, while the third was rushed to Tamluk Tamralipta Medical College in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Kolaghat police station has sent the bodies of the deceased youths to Tamralipta Medical College for post-mortem examination. The accident has left the local community in mourning as they come to terms with the sudden loss of the young lives.
